Enterprise Project Control Solution (EPCS)

An EPCS consists of a set of solutions (methodological, organizational and software) that allow an organization operating "by Project" to exercise the discipline of Enterprise Project Control in an effective and sustainable way.

The condition for achieving this goal resides in the availability of complex solutions that are able to:

-  collect and redistribute in a timely, comprehensive and seamless way throughout the lifecycle of each project all the information (costs incurred and, mainly, forecasted) necessary to support the technical and managerial decisions to be daily taken by all involved stakeholders;

-  support processes of “controlled delegation” that allow a timely and autonomous implementation of the decisions taken.

In defining the solutions (methodological, organizational and software) to be adopted by a company operating by project, the elements to be evaluated are numerous and each of them can contribute to the success or failure of an operation that often results more difficult than expected.

What are the success factors that allow to exercise the discipline of Project Control in a simple and effective way?

-  The Project Control process must be based on technical and operational elements and must be executed every day without interruption along the entire project's life-cycle;

-  To be effective, the Enterprise Project Control activity must be exercised in constant collaboration among all those working daily on the Project (Engineering, Procurement and Construction people);

-  Software solutions should facilitate the activities carried out daily by the operators and must be able to acquire and integrate information that is available on the Company Information Systems (ERP) as well as with ones that are not available on the same(“flying info”).
