Budgeting & Cost Control

 

The Budgeting and Cost Control module is the working environment in which operate people who exercise the role of Project / Cost Control Manager.

This module is located in a central position with respect to the modules of:

  • Cost Estimating;
  • Internal Services Management, Subcontracts Management, Construction Management;
  • Profitability Evaluation.

The two-way relationship with the Cost Estimating module overcomes the difficulties normally encountered during the project development phase to compare the actual costs with the corresponding estimated costs.

The Breakdown Structure (PCS = Project Control Structure), used for the Budgeting & Cost Control that can be developed day by day during the Project lifecycle according to the decisions made allows you to control effectively the evolution of the Project.

The main features of this module will allow you:

  • to define main control items that identify the work packages to be assigned both inside (through Work Orders) both outside (through the purchase orders and contracts) and other minor expenditure control items;
  • to classify the identified Control Items into classes (Ae, Ai,Ap, B, C, D) in order to determine how to treat them both in the planning phase and in the progress evaluation and estimation to complete phases;
  • to define the budgets of the Control Items recasting into them (with a ratio of "many to many") the costs of Estimating Items already defined with the Cost Estimating module;
  • to receive from the Internal Services module and from the Subcontracts module the accrued value (AC), the estimate to complete (ETC) and the Final Expected (EAC) regarding the work assigned inside and outside;
  • to receive from the ERP Integration module the accrued value (AC) and the Final Expected Cost (EAC) regarding the Purchase Orders;
  • to receive from the ERP Integration module the accrued value (AC) regarding the Other Minor Direct Costs;
  • to analyse data concerning individual Control Items and integrate them with any corrective feedback (Adjustment) appropriately "traced".
